Evan Markus Ten Feet From Heaven [Hunya Munya]

Riding on the back of their previous release, Blue Room Projects 5B, American based Hunya Munyas latest offering here, incidentally produced by label co-owner Evan Marcus, keeps in with their philosophy of high quality deep and driving tribal house. Two mixes on board, the original and a breaks mix.

The original is a perfect as perfect intro track with a typical noise filled and fuelled intro, in with the pads, the highs, a couple of tribally drums, some bird laughing, panned and echoed and then the bass from HELL (cue evil laugh !)! Think Pappa, Fortier and Digweed of old, Cattaneo and you are on the button. Deep, dark and driving as fvck. Nice haunting vocals and nervous highs add to the breakdown, which builds back up nicely. Proper drugged up peak time progressive.

The breaks mix is another nice intro number and true to the original, dark and haunting. Nice subs, clean and crisp highs and a nice building bass. It has a complete minimalist feel to it, no vocals as such, just a nice warm, dark room feel to it.
